This Privacy Policy explains how Fairdeal International ("Fairdeal", "we", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects the personal information you give us when you visit our website, send us a WhatsApp enquiry, or shop at one of our six Kolkata showrooms.

1. Who we are

Fairdeal International is a family-run consumer electronics retailer headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, with six showrooms across South Kolkata — Behala, Tollygunge, Santoshpur, Garia, Sonarpur and Baruipur. We have been an authorised dealer for leading appliance brands since 1966.

2. What we collect

We only collect information that you choose to share with us. This typically includes:

• Contact details — your name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address and pincode.
• Enquiry details — the product category, brand, model or showroom you are interested in, and any free-text message you send us.
• Purchase details — the products you buy from us, the showroom you visited, the invoice value and the delivery address (collected at the showroom or via our delivery partner).
• Technical information — basic non-identifying analytics (page views, browser type) when you visit our website.

3. How we use it

We use your information only for legitimate business purposes:

• To respond to your WhatsApp, phone or in-person enquiry and recommend the right product for your needs.
• To arrange delivery, installation and after-sales service for any product you buy from us.
• To facilitate manufacturer warranty registration where required by the brand.
• To send you, only with your consent, occasional updates about offers, new arrivals and service reminders on WhatsApp.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations under Indian law (e.g. GST invoicing).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with parties that genuinely need it to fulfil your order:

• Authorised brand partners — to register warranty, schedule installation or escalate service requests on your behalf.
• Logistics and delivery partners — limited to the name, address and contact number required to deliver your product.
• Statutory authorities — when we are required to disclose information by law (e.g. tax filings, lawful court orders).

5. WhatsApp communication

When you click "Send via WhatsApp" or message us directly, your conversation takes place on Meta's WhatsApp platform and is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy in addition to ours. We use WhatsApp purely as a communication channel — we do not run automated marketing campaigns without your explicit opt-in.

6. Cookies & analytics

Our website uses essential cookies for basic functionality. We do not run any third-party advertising tracker or behavioural retargeting pixel. If we add any analytics in future (for example, to understand which products visitors view most), it will be configured to anonymise IP addresses.

7. How long we keep your data

We retain WhatsApp and enquiry records for up to 24 months from the date of last contact. Purchase invoices are retained for 8 years to comply with Indian tax law. You can request earlier deletion at any time using the contact details below — subject to records we are legally obliged to keep.

8. Your rights

You can at any time ask us to:

• Confirm what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Delete your personal information, where we are not legally required to retain it.
• Stop sending you WhatsApp updates by replying STOP, or by telling our staff at any showroom.

9. Security

We protect your information with reasonable physical, organisational and technical safeguards. Our staff are trained to keep customer information confidential. No system is ever 100 % secure — if a breach does affect your data, we will tell you promptly and take steps to limit the impact.

10. Children

Our website and enquiry channels are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practice or in the law. The "Last updated" date at the top will always tell you when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
